My 2018 Beauty Resolutions (A Check-in)

Last year I posted My 2017 Beauty Resolutions. I don't have any major Resolutions this year concerning my beauty routine besides creating that perfect even skin tone. It's a chore and task all within itself, but it's a goal of mine this year alone. I simply wanted to check in and to let you know how that list of resolutions went for 2017 and give you some authentic feedback to let you know how it worked out for me.

I had a total of five goals for the year. They were easily attainable goals, but the ultimate question is, "Did you stick with it?" Let me just recap.

Incorporate Dry Brushing into my bath time.

The first goal was to incorporate dry brushing into my daily routine. I was honestly supposed to come back and blog about the benefits of dry brushing... that never happened, (we're going to talk about my lack of consistency in my next post). However, I tried dry brushing for a week and my poor skin didn't agree with it at all. I'm not sure if I chose the wrong brush or what happened. I simply hated every moment of it. It didn't agree with the relaxing heated shower that I love to take at night. I honestly think I'm a bit heavy handed which may have been the issue.

Double My Water Intake.

My goal was to drink a gallon of water by the end of the day every day. As I stated, I had no issues whatsoever drinking water. In fact, most days I think I was drinking a gallon of water without realizing it. I purchased a gallon just and refilled it for a while. The thought of the gallon of water in my face became overwhelming. The thought made me tired. I have gifted a faux Yeti tumbler which was AMAZING.  It is a 30oz. tumbler and it made it easy for me to get my gallon of water in a day. I just refilled it four times and sipped it throughout the day. It was a breeze. I take it everywhere. Filled with ice cold water.

Never Skip out on using my Pumice Stone

My pumice stone is still in my shower and I never miss a night of using it. My feet are amazingly soft. NO CORNS!

Get more sleep! \

Getting more sleep became a bit easy and I will admit, some nights I had a little help using a sleep aid. Don't judge me. I started working a new job that required me to be up at 5 am most days and I needed to make sure I was well rested to take on the entirety of the day. Those unisom sleep tablets are a life saver! I keep them near my bed for those restless nights where I know I need them. Eventually, sleep became a lot easier and I didn't need them.

Use Under Eye Gel Daily.

I will admit, this became a forgetful task. I definitely need to do better, I'm turning 31 this year, I need all the help I can get to stay fresh under my eye area. I did reach for my eye gel serum (I have yet to find one I love) on those mornings where it showed I didn't get much sleep.

As I already mentioned, my only goal is to even my skin tone out. I've noticed where it's gotten better. It's far from bad, but in a few spots, I see those imperfections that I just want to correct. I will continue to use my pumice stone and drink my water. I will eventually find a body scrub that I love to exfoliate and hopefully, I will find an eye gel worth feining over.

I wish you all the best this New Year! Let's go for what we want/deserve
